This “Throwback Thursday” is dedicated to the original party girl on the 70′s Sunset strip rock n’ roll scene: Sable Starr. She and her teen-age crew terrorized the streets of LA in all of their jail-bait, nipple showing, daisy duke wearing, glam rock glory. Described as the “queen of the groupie scene” she has been reportedly linked to the likes of David Bowie, Robert Plant, Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, Alice Cooper, & Marc Bolan.

Sable had a dark & torrid love affair with Johnny Thunders of the New York Dolls, running away from home to NY with him when she was only 16. Her wandering ways even earned her a mention in an Iggy Pop song : “I slept with Sable when she was 13, her parents were too rich to do anything. She rocked her way around L.A., ’til a New York guy carried her away.” By the time she was 17 she considered herself all washed up. Later in life she moved to Reno Nevada and became a black jack dealer. Live fast, & burn out faster. This little lady was a true trail blazer. R.I.P.
